Workaway in Wales

Whilst Wales might not be as exotic as some of the locations you can find on the site, there are many great hosts situated in this beautiful region, many around the famous Snowdonia National Park. We found ourselves in North Wales during July at the height of the summer heatwave, and have spent some of our time visiting Workaway hosts and enjoying the beautiful beaches around this area. What a difference the sun can make! 🙂

Beaches in Wales can be fantastic!

We visited John and Kerriann who are hosts on the site and run a craft workshop near Dolgellau. We love their idea of only using recycled materials to create some spectacular works of art.

Greeted with big smiles and enthusiasm. These wonderful people have completely thrown themselves into the Workaway spirit! Having received Workawayers from Belgium, Italy, France, Australia, as well as Taiwan their workshop is a perfect example of how a great host should be. They encourage Workawayers to learn different skills; help inspire them to create their own unique art pieces from recycled driftwoods as well as shells and stones. Workawayers came along with carpentry skills, as well as the ability to look at things in a different way using their imagination and creativity.

We asked them how Workawayers have changed their workshop in the last year. Here is a video of what Keriann thinks:

Big thanks to John and Kerriann! We hope you continue to have more and more positive experiences with Workaway, and we hope to see you again soon.
